I don’t understand this whole “app” thing. What, exactly, is it that you build?
A mobile phone application — or “app” — is a software program that runs on an Internet-capable mobile device such as a Blackberry or an iPhone, and allows the user to perform a specific function or series of functions. A video game on your phone is an app. So is a painting program or, say, a remote banking program.

We build full-featured apps that act as a tour guide/concierge for your guests, employees, students, patients, customers, fans, or anyone else in your community. The app is branded with your group’s name, not ours.

Your community members simply download your custom app for free directly onto their cell phones to get access to virtually any services and information you want to provide about your venue.

Because the app is housed on users’ cell phones or iPads, you can tell people about the latest news and events as they walk around your property. You can offer them advice about things to do or places to shop at your facility, give people video tours or instructional videos, give them interactive GPS-powered maps so they never get lost, play games with them, or send them coupons for places nearby. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg – you can give your guests whatever information you want in real-time as they explore your buildings or sit through your event.

How is your process different than traditional app building shops?
Traditional app design shops build an app, give it to your IT team, and wish you luck.

Our process is more hands-on. From day one, we really get to know your organization and your needs, and we help you through design, launch, and with all ongoing support. Our apps are hosted in the cloud and powered by our proprietary app-management platform.

If you’re not sure what cloud hosting is, think of Yahoo Mail or Gmail. Your email data is stored on Yahoo’s servers and Google’s servers so that you can access your email from any web browser. When the companies improve their email service, they update it for you – you don’t have to do anything. It’s always improving, and always accessible from any computer. Our apps work in the same way. There are no IT or interoperability issues to worry about, you can update everything yourself (even if you don’t know anything about computers), and you can access your app’s content management homepage from any web browser.

This approach also means you don’t have to worry that your app will become outdated in 8 months because it continues to evolve. Long after we build your app, you can easily get our latest new upgrades, tech support, analytics, best practice insight and more to make sure your product is always cutting-edge.

How soon after I sign a contract can we have our app up and running?
It depends on you. Both your team and our team contribute to making decisions about design and content. If your team is fast and you’d like us to be even faster, your app could be up and running in as short as 5 weeks. Our competitors generally require 6 months or more to create something even close to our finished product.

How much do you charge?
It depends on what you’d like to accomplish, how many locations you have, what kind of content you want and several other factors. Since all the data is hosted on our Amazon.com servers, we don’t have to be at your facility to help you. We can make technical fixes remotely, and can easily help you with everything you need.
